Tired of waiting

The problem with having someone who knows more than you about a subject, and letting them run things related to that subject, is that things don’t always move at the pace you want. And then you don’t get what you want because you’re waiting on someone else who has no real intention of doing what you need/want them to do any time soon (as evidenced by the fact that if they were gonna do it, they woulda done it already).

I’ve been waiting to change my blog. There are plenty of plugins I’ve been looking at using, spam filtering mechanisms and the like, but haven’t done it because Otto has been “planning” on making a rails app blog thingie and we’d move to that. So I’ve been dealing with the always annoying, rarely funny blog spam and not having certain things set up.

I’ve decided that if I set up these things, I’m not then invalidating the effort if we switch blog app thingies. Not that I really thought I was… but well I thought it would be a waste of time mostly, because any day now Otto would be switching. Ha, you’d think, since I’ve lived with the man for a decade now, I’d know better. You’d be wrong about that. Either I have a much lower guilt threshold than he does, or much more free time… because I do manage to get stuff he wants me to do for him done faster than the other way around.

And now he’s gonna feel all bad or something, which for the most part he shouldn’t. He should just be honest and come out and say that X item is not all that high on his priority list and that I should do what I want with my crap to make myself happy with the situation. ;-)

The real issue here is the same issue I always have. I, am an incredibly lazy person. If it ain’t THE MOST FUN EVER ™ I don’t really want to do it, and will not do it by any means necessary. So, no. It’s not someone else’s fault I’m not getting the the things done I want done, they’re mostly just a convenient excuse.

Anyway… what was I saying?
