500 Calorie pasta

Every once in a while I manage to get the ingredients just right in a recipe such that the servings it splits into is a whole number. When I make Otto’s meals, the ingredients are measured, cooked, and then the total amount is divided up such that each meal is 500 calories. Usually, it’s like 3.5 meals or somesuch nonsense. However, since something managed to come out perfect for a change, I’ll post it.

Beef Pasta
20 oz 96% lean ground beef
6 oz whole wheat pasta
235g Ragu Traditional Sauce (whatever flavour, the calories are the same)
15g Kraft Parmesan Cheese (for on top, 5g (1 serv) each)

Makes three just under 500 calories servings.

Mostly, this is for memory. In case some point in the future I want preciseness. The weirdness in the cooking is the sauce, since sometimes it takes more or less depending on how long the meat has cooked and whatnot. (If the meat cooks longer, it loses more moisture, making smaller volume, therefore smaller surface area to cover, therefore variability of required amount of sauce.)

Obviously, if you need to watch your sodium, this is not for you.

Seasonings include oregano, garlic, basil, red pepper, black pepper, salt, fennel… etc.
