I hate my fucking HOA
They are utter retards. And what’s worse, the management company that we get to deal with is even worse. Considering that the old management company apparently embezzled all the money sent in as dues and shit, I’m not terribly confident about my retarded board’s ability to pick a management company.
And this is really super pissing me off because these people are totally, ridiculously difficult to get to actually give you any info.
They mail you a note that says “your have not paid your assessments.”
You call and request a copy of their accounting of your account so you can check it against your records and find their mistakes for them, because they are fucking idiots, and so far as you can tell you are fine and all paid.
No reply.
You call and say (in a message, you can never seem to be able to talk to anyone), “I am paid up. I have the paperwork, the check numbers, sent dates, cashed dates, etc. Please call or write if you need further proof or if there are more issues.”
You also send a nice note as well, since they cannot be trusted.
Nothing.
Your next note (a bit later) explains to them that you’ve asked for a record of your account, and that you will compare that when you get it and let them know where they went wrong.
You hear nothing for some time, then a note with the data requested. They are missing payments that have cleared your bank.
You send them a nice long note detailing where they are wrong. You let them know that if they want further proof they can request it and send you will get it and send it to them, and let them know how much it cost you to prove they were fucking idiots.
You hear nothing. Then, a while later, a nasty notice saying, “We’ve told you you have unpaid assessments. You still do. We are calling the lawyers in.”
You send back a letter… “I never got a reply from you when I let you know that your records are wrong. I again include my accounting information for you to see. If you need further proof that we are paid up, please let me know, and I will send you copies of my checks that you cashed from my bank, along with a bill for the fee to do so since you’re screwing up my account.”
You hear nothing.
Then, you get a nice note from the lawyer they decided to sic on you. About how you have unpaid assessments and if you don’t pay you’ll also have to pay lawyer fees and you will have a lein on your house.
So you send along yet more letters, to the asshats and their lawyer, explaining the situation AGAIN. About how you are not missing any assessments, all months for the last 3 years are accounted for, and that you have yet to recieve any request for proof or ANYTHING from ANYONE.
Nothing.
And, then you get a fun letter from the lawyers, telling you there’s been a lein placed on your property, for the amount of the “unpaid” assessments and lawyer’s fees.
AAAARRRRGHHGHHGHGHGHGH!!!!
