Drama project

I have a project due in drama in April.
It could be any number of kinds of things… from designing a set or costumes for a play, to writing a play. From acting out a scene to writing a research paper. (Guess which one I’m NOT picking to do.)

So, I’ve been trying to narrow my choices.
I’ve come up with either:
designing and printing a flyer, poster, and program for a play…
building a puppet theatre…
building a scale model of famous theater…
or putting on a puppet play.

I wonder how sock puppets would go off…

Anyway…
The major advantage one is, in fact the flyer/program/poster one… mainly because it’s something I can use in my portfolio when I’m done. However, it’s also something I could knock out in a weekend on Illustrator, and be done with it. That seems a bit… unfair. And certainly not too challenging… ya know?

The puppet theatre/puppet show sound very cool… but then again… I’d have to build the thing… and I’m not 100% sure about how I’d go about doing that. I mean, plywood and crap, while nice, would be awfully heavy and cumbersome. A fridge box… kinda … ghetto.

The scale model idea is interesting… and I have plenty of plaster to carve something… or if all else fails paper… but it just doesn’t sound too … fun… I guess.

So, I think I’ll decide on the flyer/poster/program thing, for a play that I may then do a puppet show of an act or something. That way, bases covered, and more interesting stuff possible.

Need to find a play…

hmm… there’s also the idea of designing masks…
hmm…
I’ll still decide initially to go with what I’ve planned, and if something else really cool pops into my head I can change my mind.
