Paint and graphite
I’ve started drawing again. Some flash, some doodling, some just random crap I see. I don’t really draw enough. I let other things get in the way, even though I really enjoy the fairly meditative state producing art puts me in. I have work to do on a project for class (of course I’m taking another studio class) but it’s not all that intensive. At the moment it involves paper and paste.
I’m not actually working on flash for me, per se… more like just stuff in general. It’s been a while since I’ve done some serious work to build up my portfolio, and even longer since I’ve done stuff just for practice. While I’ve enjoyed sculpture a lot, I really do like the fact that a piece of paper and a writing instrument means you can draw. No mess, no extra materials, no space constraints, no waiting for something to dry/stick/set/etc.
Saw some fun looking modeling clay at Michael’s… might grab some. Grabbed some more materials for class: gouache, watercolour, construction paper, ruler… really about the only things I didn’t have. I have a lot of crap.
I need to get the studio back in shape, so that I feel comfortable using it. It serves mainly as storage at the moment, which is swell, but I’d still like to use it. I can, but it doesn’t feel quite right anymore. Nowhere else does either. I’ll fix that this week tho.
