friday… homework
I need to work on my shoe this weekend. A lot.
Begin serious work on my next engrish paper. I need to have an outline, thesis, and intro by friday.
Draw Plato’s “cave” for engrish monday.
Read geology homework.
Work on the answers to my last geo test (that was wed) to get an extra 5 points on the test.
I have a problem with this. Given a test… the class doesn’t do all that great… so we get to make up some of the work? If you got less than a 75%, you’re allowed to do work to bring your grade up to a 75. If you got more than 75%, you can do work to bring your grade up by 5.
Now, I did not get an A. I got 51/60 (85%). I didn’t finish my reading before hand, I was absent the class before the test, and I just flaked on a couple. So, I fucked up 9, because of one reason or another… and that’s my own damn fault. This is supposed to be college? WTF?
Don’t get me wrong. I understand that the main goal of these classes should be to learn, not just memorize and pass tests. I understand that sometimes, people don’t do well on tests. But… come the fuck on! If you failed, you can bring your grade … not only up to a pass … but to a mid C. If you happened to actually do ok or well… you can shove your hard work up your ass.
So the person that worked hard for that 75% is somewhat slightly invalidated because the person who didn’t and got a 40% will be getting a 75.
Sure I’ll do the damn work. I’ll end up with a 90 that I didn’t earn. Whatever. I just don’t really think it’s all that right. sigh
