It’s been a while…

So, I just haven’t had too much time to write lately… Between homework and housework and such… All I’ve actually done since the 11th is post a link to Lindsay’s band’s site. (Stutter… duh!)

This past weekend Raney came down for a visit… we didn’t do all that much but play video games…
We buy the games. We buy a multitap. We take them home. Open them up. We put in Champions of Norath. We get a disc read error. UGH! So I open the PS2 and start fiddling with it. It doesn’t help this time. ARGH! So we call EBGames to see if they have used PS2s in stock. Yeah, but only $30 cheaper than new, not the sleek slim ones, and only come with one controller. So I run to get it (new). Get there… ask if the multitap we jsut got will work with it… they think it will but not positive. I get home… NOPE! Not even with an extension. (The main problem was that the lengths of the mem card and controller imputs were off. The extension solved that… but then there was still the problem of the new machine not reading the old multitap.) So back I go for new multitap. The guys at EB near home (new store) are pretty nice and very helpful. In the end, it all worked out. Now next time we go back to get something, we’ll take our old network adapter since the new PS2 has it built in. Won’t get us much… but not like it’s doing anything but collecting dust anyway…

So we finally start playing. After a while, Otto says something funny while I had just taken a huge gulp of lemonaid. I tried not to laugh. I tried not to spit it out. I ended up sucking about half of it in. Coughed the rest out. Spent the next couple minutes bent over pounding on the floor, trying to cough out enough liquid to actually breathe. I think I was doing nothing but expelling air for about 2 minutes… started seeing spots, getting woozy and weak… couldn’t breathe… tooo much liquid…
I finally expelled enough to get in a gurgling breath before spending another minute unable to breathe… This was not your normal, run-of-the-mill inhaled a bit of water scenerio… and that was really pretty damn scary. I could feel myself passing out… I fought it… but it was coming…
UGH… lets just say I was glad when it was over and I spent the next few hours trying to get the remaining vestiges of lemonaid out of my lungs… man… that shit buuuuurrrrns.

I have warwounds… Raney and I got into another tong-fencing-duel. I won… but I have marks on my hands from where the tongs bit in during a thrust… but hey… no pain no fun… right?

My meds seem to be working some. At least the side-effects are manageable… Taken at bedtime the drowsy effect works in my favour… and other than that I seem to be having none… except the occational dry-mouth (sucks during soccer.) It’s only been a week or so, but it does seem to have reduced my symptoms by perhaps a 1/4 to 1/3. I’ll give it more time to decide for sure… but I’m hopeful it’ll get better. I’ll still talk to the doc about a chiro… just in case it’d help make it go away entirely.

I have a bit more to do on my still-life before I call it done.. the highlights are taking a bit… so is the background. I have the background done now, but I have to wait till it dries to fix the few objects that got smudged.

Mousie treaded across my latest painting… stepping in a bunch of white and printing her paws all across the table and my shirt. UGH. Oh well, I knew it would happen eventually…

The drawing of mousie is almost done. I’m hoping I can finish that this weekend.

Finished one tat design, starting to work on others. Not entirely sure what I want them to look like exactly yet, and I am not ready for the spine run. I’m thinking runes for my ring, celtic dragons for my arm, and a basic knot for my other ankle. I’ll work something out… it just takes time to solidify ideas enough to be able to put down how it’ll look.

ah well… I need to get cleaning up. Supposed to help Jasmine with math today, and she’ll be here in about an hour and a half. While I don’t mind helping someone out… I am a little miffed that she forced me to name a price for tutoring, and when I did has apparently decided she can’t do it… but no longer brings up the topic. *sigh* oh well.
